We are moving forward quickly with our new Exploratory Adventures. These Exploratory Adventures are first-run tours to less-traveled destinations in small groups, generally led by our founder and owner Allan Wright.
We recently added two new Exploratory tours to our schedule for this coming August – plus we have two more already on the schedule. Here are my personal takes on these tours as the person who set them up and will guide them.
Via Di Francesco Hiking in Italy: August 14 – 20, 2025: We have been running tours in Italy for 20 years, all of them with our friends Giovanni and Michela. Giovanni guides many of our Italy tours and recommended this hiking tour, which follows in the footsteps of St. Francis. I am intrigued in part because it is a less-touristed version of the Camino de Santiago in Spain, in part because it visits a region I have not explored, and in part because you cannot get a better insight into Italy than hanging with Giovanni for a week.
Tatra Mountains Hiking in Poland and Slovakia: August 21 – 26, 2025: I spent four years living in Poland when I was in my 20s. I loved the experienced and am excited to return. But more importantly to our travelers, the Tatra Mountains that form a natural border between Poland and Slovakia are one of the most picturesque mountain chains in Europe. Plus, we spend two nights in the cute mountain town of Zakopane, two nights in a mountain hotel in Slovakia, and one night in the cultural center Kraków. This trip is an excellent combo of culture and hiking.
In addition to these new tours in August, we have these additional two already on the schedule:
Oman Multisport on the Arabian Peninsula: December 29, 2025 – January 6, 2026
Bolivia Multisport: August 12 – 21, 2026
So what do you get with our Exploratory Adventures? Much smaller group sizes at no higher costs. Less-touristed locations you might never otherwise visit in your life. The opportunity to explore our world with long-time global traveler and Zephyr owner Allan Wright and a few other travel companions.
