The 2021 schedule is now online, including five new trips we have never run before. It is a crazy time to be announcing a travel schedule and an uncertain environment ahead. Here are a few things that guided our decisions on which tours to run next year.
Number of Tours
We are offering 13 public tours on our schedule for 2021. This is fewer than we have offered in previous years because we predict demand to still be down in 2021, whether due to the ongoing pandemic or the resulting recession. However, fewer tours will very likely mean some tours fill up early.
Domestic
It is still uncertain whether Americans will be able to travel abroad in 2021 and how comfortable people will be to do so when allowed. Therefore, nine of the 13 tours on our schedule are in the United States. We know our travelers love traveling abroad and we will add more foreign tours if the situation changes.
Safety First
Travel is possible. We have already safely run two tours during this pandemic. To continue our focus on safety, we have taken the following into account:
- We have selected tour locations that have done a good job of dealing with the pandemic or are simply low in population, such as tours in Oregon, Montana, and Vermont.
- We believe flying is relatively safe but know that some people are still leery of it. We have tried to add more tours within driving distance of our US customers. We have added new tours in Bend, Oregon (within a reasonable day’s drive of everyone from Seattle to San Francisco), Iowa, a combo Wisconsin/Minnesota bike tour, and Vermont.
- We have purposefully structured tours and selected dates to minimize time indoors. For example, you can participate in our new Vermont Biking Adventure and never get in a car or eat inside a restaurant.
Private Tours
Keep in mind you always have the option to arrange your own private tour and can choose from any of our dozens of available locations!
——————-
We are taking reservations now and already have a substantial number of bookings rolled over from this year. Please remember we have loosened our cancellation policy to allow you to cancel at almost any time and move your trip payments (less any fixed costs we might have incurred if you cancel very late) to another tour. We are here for you when you are ready to travel!
