We like to provide a range of activities on each of our tours, to accommodate all ability levels. We try to ensure that each hike or bike ride has several route options – easy, medium, and hard, when possible. But when you take a look at our itineraries overall, there are some that are more strenuous and others that are less so.
Some travelers have bucket lists filled with adventures that are meant to test your limits both mentally and physically. Ones that require you to train for potentially months ahead of time like our Tanzania: Mount Kilimanjaro Trek or our England: Hadrian’s Wall Hiking Adventure.
Then there are others who still want to be active while on vacation but are looking for activities where you can break a sweat but are less strenuous overall. For this second group of people, here are a few tour ideas to consider:
Active But Easy Vacations
On this tour, we mix up the hiking with delicious and fun wine tastings and end with an incredible safari. Though we do hike up the iconic Table Mountain, you have the choice to take the cable car up if you aren’t feeling up to hiking.
Though we will certainly be active each day, the focus of this trip is helping the Endangered Species Project with whatever tasks are needed. The activities will vary and you always have the choice to opt out. Most of the time we will be hiking in the bush to observe wildlife while taking notes.
Though we will be biking through the stunning Dolomite Mountain range, don’t worry, we won’t be climbing hill upon hill. We will mostly be on paved bike paths through fairly flat valleys with the mountains as a gorgeous backdrop. If you are feeling like you need a bit more of a challenge, there are optional route add-ons available.
Similar to our Dolomites trip, instead of biking over the mountains we bike through them! We’ll enjoy mile after mile of tree-lined, flat trails cutting through mountainsides and skirting around beautiful rivers and lakes on old railroad beds. When there is a grade, it is generally slightly downhill.
We do a variety of activities on the Chile & Argentina Multisport & Wine Adventure, including hiking, biking, horseback riding, zip lining, and rafting – all broken up with delicious wine tastings along the way. We provide different route options for both the hiking and biking so you choose what you are up for that day, a shorter easier route or longer hard route.
On this tour, we explore a variety of different beautiful landscapes from lakes and forests to sand dunes and beaches on foot. But there are winery visits and tastings sprinkled throughout the itinerary that give you a chance to relax and unwind before heading out on our next jaunt.
So if you’re looking to be active on your next vacation but don’t want to have to train for weeks ahead of time, join us on one of our active but easy trips next year. And if your partner or spouse does want the activity, we’ll make sure to get him or her enough exercise too!
