Our Caribbean Pickleball Adventure takes place at the all-inclusive Verandah Antigua Resort & Spa on the island of Antigua. The trip blends the high-energy social sport of pickleball with a laid-back Caribbean escape. This tour is targeted to those eager to learn about pickleball or improve their play but not to advanced players looking to train for competitions.

About the Pickleball

Pickleball is a fun, active, and social sport. Although pickleball players take the sport seriously, for the vast majority of players it is more about the social aspects than the competition. Pickleball has a very fast learning curve and more experienced players readily welcome those newer to the sport.

The Verandah has four dedicated pickleball courts. We will play a minimum of two hours each morning with options for afternoon matches or even evening play under the lights. The resort pro will be with us to help us improve our play.

Our Caribbean Pickleball Adventure is designed for players from novice to advanced. Even if you are new to pickleball, you will pick it up very quickly. (If you are above a 4.0 in the pickleball rating scale, this will not be advanced enough for you.) Our focus is on fun and learning. We play together and rotate partners, so solo travelers are welcome.

Our Caribbean Pickleball Resort

The Verandah Antigua Resort & Spa is set on 30 acres of beach front with palm trees overhead. The resort is adult only and all-inclusive. Meals, drinks, activities, and entertainment are all built in, so your only decision is to choose what comes next after pickleball: swimming in the pool, hanging out on the beach, or perhaps grabbing cocktails at one of the resort bars.

The resort offers four different swimming pools and two beaches. There are five different restaurants, two bars, a pub, and a coffee shop. All-included means breakfast, lunch, dinner, afternoon tea, pre-dinner appetizers, and both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. When you’re not on the courts, the resort offers a wide range of included activities so you can build your perfect balance of play, movement, and relaxation. 

• Paddleboard or kayak along Antigua’s calm coastline 
• Try Hobie Cat sailing or snorkeling directly from the beach 
• Join a yoga or fitness class 
• Play tennis, beach volleyball, or mini golf 
• Swim laps or relax between matches at one of four pools 
• Take a short walk to nearby natural landmarks like Devil’s Bridge
• Enjoy a sunset drink with your new Zephyr friends! 

You can sign up for off-resort activities at an extra cost such as catamaran sailing, deep sea fishing, or jeep rides around the island. There is even nightly entertainment.

The Timing

Our tour is scheduled for November 28 – December 3. It starts two days after Thanksgiving (you fly in that day) and we understand this is a busy time of year for you. However, it is also right before the start of Antigua’s peak season, meaning you get beautiful weather – warm, sunny, and ideal for both daytime play and evening cocktails – without the heavier holiday crowds later in the month. This timing also means we got an excellent rate at our resort, which allows us to pass on the savings to you. It also allows us to enjoy the resort amenities without long waits and keeps the overall vibe relaxed rather than hectic.
