Regardless of political beliefs, the environment is clearly under pressure. States are fighting over limited water, animals throughout the west are losing their habitat to development, oil drilling produces great energy benefits but causes catastrophic oil spills and even earthquakes, and an ever-rising world population will continue to exert impacts on the world around us.
We realize that it is vital to protect our planet not only for our own future adventures but for future generations. Because of this, Zephyr Adventures makes an annual donation to the Conservation Alliance. Their mission is to engage businesses to fund and partner with organizations to protect and restore America’s wild places.
The Conservation Alliance was formed in 1989. Since then it has helped save more than 45 million acres of wildlands, protect 2,972 miles of rivers, stop or remove 28 dams, designate five marine reserves, and purchase 11 climbing areas.
This year the Conservation Alliance had many successes, including protecting ten different natural areas throughout the United States. They also celebrated President Obama permanently protecting 1.8 million acres of land in the California desert when he designated the Mojave Trails National Monument, the Sand to Snow National Monument and the Castle Mountains National Monument, which connect Death Valley National Park, Joshua Tree National Park, and the Mojave National Preserve
We’re proud to support great organizations like the Conservation Alliance and are dedicated to protecting our planet and preserving the stunning natural world we enjoy exploring so much.
