Zephyr Adventures was founded in 1997 as the world’s first inline skating tour company. Although we have changed and adapted over the years, we were a unique travel company then and remain that way today.
All of our tours are active – hiking, trekking, biking, inline skating, and sometimes a combination of activities – and designed to accommodate people of varying ability levels. We don’t try to do everything for everybody but, instead, focus only on tours where we can be the best in the business – active food, wine, and beer tours; trekking vacations where you don’t have to carry your own gear; biking tours in a few locations we know and love well; and inline skating adventures in the best locations all over the globe.
We provide you with every comfort on our tours but also make sure we don’t insulate you from the local culture. We purposefully allow you to discover some things on your own because it makes for more authentic travel experiences.
Our Staff and Guides
We remain small by design — you will often find Zephyr’s founder Allan Wright or one of our full-time employees on a tour as a guide. And when you’re on one of our tours, you’ll be treated like part of our Zephyr family.
Meet the family by visiting the Zephyr staff and guides page.
We believe we provide the best value you can find in adventure travel. We do this by eliminating the cost of an office (we all work remotely), not owning our own vans or bikes, and removing the expense of a big advertising budget or 50-page catalog (we do neither). We are proud to offer excellent tours at reasonable prices.

If you are interested in just the culinary delights and want to leave the physical activity at home, see our sister company Taste Vacations, which runs food, wine, beer, and spirits tours around the world.
In addition to our tours, we operate events in the food, wine, beer, and fitness industries including niche social media conferences; the annual Wine Marketing & Tourism Conference and annual Beer Marketing & Tourism Conference for industry members, and Wine Tourism Day for consumers. These events give us better connections, more knowledge, and greater access to local places on the active food, wine, and beer tours we run. For more information, visit our events page.
