Every year the Zephyr Adventures team meets to discuss the coming year’s plans, enjoy delicious food, drink tasty wine and beer, and explore the great outdoors. This year’s meeting was held in Zephyr’s worldwide headquarters, beautiful Red Lodge, Montana.
To start the meeting off right, we ventured over to Mas Taco for a tortilla-making lesson and beer pairing dinner. Head chef and owner of Mas Taco, Mike Muirhead (pictured in the photos at the top of this post), developed an outstanding custom menu for our team. Each of us were able to try our hand at the fine art of tortilla making while learning about each menu item.
Every course was expertly paired with a tasty Red Lodge Ales brew by our resident beer guide, Doug Bailey, the Beerbarian. Like wine, food can be enhanced with the right beer, and vice versa. Doug chose the perfect matches for each course – the Czech Mate Pilsner with handmade tortilla chips and fresh salsa, the Helio Hefewizen with a baby greens and chopped cabbage salad with chili-lime vinagrette, the Jack’s 90 Scottish Ale & the Bent Nail IPA with an assortment of tasty tacos, and the Dylly Vanylly Vanilla Bean Porter with a Mexican flan with cinnamon-cayenne cream to finish things off.
And in true Zephyr fashion, after tasting delectable food and delicious brews, we also enjoyed a bit of the outdoors. We took advantage of the beautifully sunny days to snowshoe on the Willow Creek Trail and hike the Silver Run Trail.
Though one of the purposes of our annual meeting is to spend quality time and have some fun with our fellow Zephyr team members, we also had outstanding strategy and planning meetings throughout the week. We left feeling rejuvenated, refreshed, and excited for what this year has in store.
