I set up and have several times run our Idaho Skating Adventure, which is absolutely beautiful. But each time I have been there, I have looked at the map and drooled over the Route of the Hiawatha, a rails-to-trails project on what was once one of the most scenic railroad lines in the country.
Following the crest of the Bitterroot Mountains, the Route of the Hiawatha is 15 miles long with 10 train tunnels and 7 sky-high trestles, offering outstanding views of the rugged terrain below. Since it is gravel, we have always left it out of our skating tours.
Now, with a request from our alumni for more domestic tour locations in 2019, we have decided to add the Route of the Hiawatha to our already stellar itinerary to create a new Idaho Biking Adventure.

Idaho might not come to mind when looking for a bike tour location. But we at Zephyr absolutely LOVE the paved, off-road trails that are so ideal for bike touring. And Idaho has a beauty – the 72-mile Trail of the Coeur
Add in beautiful sunshine (most days), gorgeous scenery, cute mountain towns, and lakeside resorts and we have an outstanding bike tour to offer. We hope you can join us July 21 – 25, 2019 on our new Idaho Biking Adventure.
