A few months back we wrote a post about The Best Travel Gear for Your Next Trip by asking the Zephyr team what items they couldn’t live without while guiding our tours. Since then we’ve had a few other conversations both with our team and with our awesome network of fellow adventurers on social media. Here’s a few extra travel gear items to our original list:
(Please note: Zephyr Adventures has not been compensated by any of the mentioned brands, the opinions and recommendations are our own.)
Scott eVest – The Q.U.E.S.T vest from ScotteVest has over 40 different pockets to stash just about anything you may need in a normal carry-on like your wallet, phone, tablet, book, water bottle, chargers, sunglasses, boarding ticket… the list is endless. Plus they do take style into consideration so you don’t go around looking like you’re literally just wearing a bag.
Running Shoes – No matter where you are traveling you can always find somewhere to run, whether it be on a path through the woods or on a bustling sidewalk of a city. Frankly, we think taking a run is one of the best ways to explore a new place. Thankfully running shoes typically don’t take up a lot of room (especially if you use the negative space and stuff your socks and underwear inside them when packing your suitcase) or they can be worn on your feet as you’re traveling.
Travel pillow – Nothing puts a damper on the beginning of your vacation than having an uncomfortable flight and a crick in your neck. Travel pillows are a great way to help catch some shut eye (especially on those overnight flights.) Depending on your preference, there are several different types to choose from – memory foam, bean bag, and inflating. There are even self-inflating memory foam travel pillows!
Duct Tape, plastic bags, and wet wipes – Who said travel gear had to be fancy? Duct tape, plastic bags and wet wipes may be some of the most useful and versatile gear you can pack. You never know when your bag, other gear, heck even boots, are going to split.
You can use plastic bags to hold your souvenirs, trail snacks, dirty shoes, laundry or if large enough, even use it as a poncho. And you’ll be happy to have a packet of wet wipes with you to help wipe away the days grit and grime before chowing down on some delicious meal.
We’re curious – what else is on your must-pack travel gear list?
