Wine, culinary, and even beer tours are becoming increasingly popular and for good reason. In part it is the beautiful scenery in wine country and the pleasure of tasting excellent local cuisine, wine, and beer. Travelers focused on food, wine, and beer also often have more local, more educational experiences that fill a need for doing something memorable on vacation.
However, wine, beer, and food connoisseurs are not known for being active and often spend more time on their rears than we like in a vacation, as they shuttle from hotel to winery to restaurant. We've added a whole new element to wine, food, and beer travel, as we stay active - on foot, bike, horseback, and canoe. We are the experts in active food, wine, and beer vacations.
On our wine tours we have private wine tours, conversations with local vintners, exclusive walks through vineyards, and other opportunities to intimately get to know the wines of the region. On our food tours, we arrange cooking classes, visits to local markets, and tours of local olive oil factories, fig farms, cheese producers, etc. On our Yellowstone Country and Colorado beer tours, we visit a different craft brewery each day, often with a special tour, tasting, or educational session.
In keeping with Zephyr's philosophy, everything is optional. If you just want to just bike, eat, and drink and not visit local producers, you'll still love our Provence biking tour or our Italy hike and bike adventure. If you want to skip a brewery visit in Montana, you are free to do so. You will love the safari and hiking in South Africa even if you don't drink wine.
In short, you need be neither a strong athlete nor a wine, food, or beer expert to enjoy these tours. We simply believe combining fun activity with excellent food, wine, and beer makes for an outstanding vacation. And you can't go wrong with the food, wine, and beer regions we have chosen, so pick your favorite and join us!
