Florida has some of the best long-distance inline skating (Rollerblading) trails in the United States and certainly the best in any southern state. It is a perfect winter getaway for inline skaters.

Our Florida inline skating tour is designed for all ability levels with multiple route options and van support each day. We start and end at Tampa Airport and Rollerblade on four fantastic trails in the Gulf Coast region. The Upper Tampa Bay Trail is new, gorgeous, and an excellent example of how transportation funding in America is changing to include alternatives to the car. The 46-mile Withlacoochee Trail, the longest paved trail in Florida, cuts through pristine forest and along a river in the middle of the state. The Withlacoochee Bay trail runs to the Gulf of Mexico through maritime hammocks and salt marsh, providing numerous opportunities to observe local wildlife. Finally, we reach a more urban area and the Pinellas Trail, which bisects several gulf-coast communities in the western part of Florida. Because the trails are flat (perfect for beginners) and long (perfect for advanced skaters), this is a great tour for friends or couples of differing ability levels.

Florida is an outstanding location for a winter getaway. The inline skating is excellent, the hotels relaxing, and the temperature is in the seventies most days - odds are it will be a sunny day perfect for skating! Come join other skaters and bikers (rental $25/day), enjoy the great weather, and roll on the fantastic trails!

Accommodations
We normally stay our first two nights in the lovely Plantation Inn, a southern-style hotel in the Gulf Coast town of Crystal River, famous for its manatee population. However, in 2011 the hotel is undergoing significant renovation and is closed. Instead, we will stay at the Holiday Inn Express - while not normally our chain of hotels, this specific hotel gets fanastic reviews on Trip Advisor and, in fact, is the top rated hotel in Crystal River. We then transfer to the Scottish town of Dunedin and the Yacht Harbor Inn, our hotel right on the water with view from your balcony. Three of the top 10 beaches in the country are right in the neighborhood and the sunsets are awesome.
