Just the name "Burgundy" brings to mind rolling hills, delicious food, and - most of all - fantastic wine. Combine this with the joys of staying active while walking from vineyard to vineyard and you have one fantastic vacation.

The wine area of Burgundy is actually fairly unique. The bulk of the vineyards are in a long, narrow area called the Côte d'Or or Gold Coast. Being only 40 kilometers long, a few kilometers wide, and filled with both vineyards and walking paths, it allows us to walk each day from our hotel, rarely having to jump in our support van. We have the opportunity to taste wines each day from both famous and lesser-known vineyards in this area and the interesting Hautes-Côtes de Nuits sub-appellation.

We use a combination of small agricultural roads, dirt paths, and country lanes for our routes. The walking is relatively easy, although we have multiple routes each day so you can choose to get a workout if you want one. And each evening, we enjoy the top-class accommodations and outstanding food for which Burgundy is known.

Special Note: Superior Liquor
This tour is being run in conjunction with Superior Liquor, a Colorado store well-known for its excellent wine department.  What does this mean for you?  A number of the attendees will likely be from Colorado and Superior Liquor might send one of its knowledeable wine staff to join us on the tour. This just means you would have an extra wine guide on the trip at no additional cost.

Accommodations
We start out with two nights at the Hotel de la Poste in Beaune, one of the two best hotels in this capital city of the Burgundy wine area. You'll feel like royalty staying here. We then make a complete change in character as we stay in the Hotel Le Manassès, practically the only business in the extremely small village of Curtil-Vergy in the Haute Côte region. Boasting a great view and solitude with no end, the hotel even has its own wine musuem. Our final two nights we stay in one of the finest properties we use worldwide, the Château André Ziltener located right on the Route des Grands Crus and an incredible way to end the tour.
