Yellowstone Winter Adventure
Frequently Asked Questions
We will send you detailed information about the tour in a
Pre-Departure Packet once we reach the minimum of ten participants.
What is the weather going to be like?
The average high
temperature in Yellowstone during our tour is about 30 degrees - while
the
average nighttime low hovers around zero
degrees. It will be cold. However, you'll be working up a
sweat while exercising during the day and keeping warm in our luxury
hotel at night. Yellowstone also averages two feet of
snow in February alone, so the chances of the white stuff falling on
our heads is excellent. It's a winter wonderland.
What is the best way to get to the tour and where do we meet?
We'll pick you up at 1:00 PM in Bozeman, Montana, which has its own
airport, allowing you to fly in that morning. We finish in Bozeman at
around noon on the last day. Please wait to receive our Pre-Departure
Packet before you make any flight reservations.
What should I do if I want to extend my vacation in the area?
Bozeman
is a fantastic college town and worth spending a night or two. There
are also many ski resorts in the area - Jackson, Big Sky, and Bridger
Bowl are three. For more natural
beauty, consider Grand Teton National Park just south of Yellowstone.
What ability level do I really need to be for this Adventure?
This Adventure is rated as For All Abilities.
Snowshoeing and cross country skiing can be as easy or strenuous as you
want to make it. Both activities are excellent ways to get
into
nature on a winter stroll - or can be a heart pounding, lung-burning
workout if you prefer. Our guides will provide you with
instruction and equipment is available to rent.
For what type of people would you recommend this Adventure?
This trip is fantastic if you have always wanted to see Yellowstone but
prefer doing it on your own terms. Most people never see Yellowstone in
winter and few see the real backcountry. You do not need to be
experienced in either snowshoeing or cross-country skiing.
Both
sports are easy for beginers to pick up and we will provide instruction.
