Sonoma Wine Tour

Sonoma Vineyard Walks Adventure
Frequently Asked Questions

We will send you detailed information about the Adventure in a Pre-Departure Packet once you register. (Note: photo credit Robert Janover, www.sonomacountry.com.)

What is the weather going to be like?
In October, the average high is still 75 degrees and on average it rains only four days in the month but the weather is more variable.  Our October tour will likely be after the harvest and the vines will be turning yellow and red - an incredible display of colors.

What is the best way to get to the Adventure and where do we meet?
We will meet you at San Francisco International Airport and make the two hour drive to Dry Creek Valley. We will drop you off in San Francisco at the end of the trip. If you will be driving or arriving early, we'll meet you directly at our Santa Rosa hotel where you can leave your car for the week.

What should I do if I want to extend my vacation in the area?
See San Francisco! San Francisco is a fantastic city worth a few days of your time. Other things you might want to do in the area (involving a car) are driving up the northern Pacific coast, spending some time in the Sierra Nevada mountains, or visiting Yosemite National Park.

Do I need to be a wine expert to enjoy this tour?
You definitely don't need to be a wine expert to enjoy this tour. In fact, you don't even need any knowledge of wines at all. All you need is an open mind, an ability to discern what you like and don't like, and an adventurous spirit.

What ability level do I really need to be for this Adventure?
This tour is rated For All Abilities. No experience is necessary at all.  Our basic Vineyard Walks are fairly easy and we have longer hikes for those of you looking for a workout.

For what type of people would you recommend this trip?
Everyone. Couples will love the romantic scenery. Sophisticates will enjoy the food and wine. Adventurers will love this new way of seeing Sonoma County.
