Chile & Argentina Frequently Asked Questions

We will send you detailed information about the Adventure in a Pre-Departure Packet once you register.

What is the weather going to be like?
Remember the seasons are reversed in South America so November is the late spring. The average high in Santiago in November is 77 degrees, while it is 82 degrees in Mendoza. The nights will get down to the 40s or 50s.  The area gets little rain in November.

What is the best way to get to the Tour and where do we meet?
We meet in Santiago, Chile and depart from Mendoza, Argentina. Flights to Santiago are overnight with a morning arrival, so you can arrive the first morning of the tour (we'll pick you up at the airport) or the day before. Flights leaving Mendoza for the US mostly connect in Santiago, so you'll fly from Mendoza in the afternoon, connect in Santiago, and take an overnight flight home.

What should I do if I want to extend my vacation in the area?
We don't spend any time in Santiago on this tour, so you could easily add a day or two in this city.  Alternatively, you might consider flying at tour's end to Buenos Aires.

Do I need to be a wine expert to enjoy this tour?
You definitely don't need to be a wine expert to enjoy this tour. In fact, you don't even need any knowledge of wines at all. All you need is an open mind, an ability to discern what you like and don't like, and an adventurous spirit.

What ability level do I really need to be for this tour?
The Chile & Argentina Multisport Wine Adventure is rated for All Abilities. The hiking and biking are gentle and no experience is required on any of our activities. We will provide more difficult challenges for those who wish them but, otherwise, this tour is designed to be a fun, active, but not challenging trip.

For what type of people would you recommend this trip?
Active wine drinkers. You need not be knowledgeable at all about wine to enjoy this tour; you just need some enthusiasm!
