Colorado Adventure F.A.Q
We will send you detailed information about the Adventure in a Pre-Departure Packet once you register.
What is the weather going to be like?
The weather in Colorado during the fall is usually excellent, with sunny days and crisp evenings. However, we do spend time up high (Estes Park is over 7,500 feet) and time down lower (Fort Collins is at 5,000), so we get two types of weather. In October, the average high in Estes Park is 60 degrees and it is even possible to get snow – so be prepared and we’ll adapt if necessary. Down low, temperatures average around 66 degrees during the day, making the hiking and biking perfect.
What is the best way to get to the tour and where do we meet?
You should fly into Denver International Airport, a major hub in the Rocky Mountain states. We will meet you either at the airport if you fly in that day or in Boulder if you get to our tour area in advance.
What should I do if I want to extend my vacation in the area?
We are planning this tour to coincide with the Great American Beer Festival, the nation’s premier beer festival with 49,000 attendees. It sounds crazy but it is a fun experience – for a day. You might consider extending your vacation a day to spend more than one day at the festival. Summit County where Frisco lies is an outstanding recreational playground. This is an excellent place to spend extra time if you have a few days available. You might also check out Steamboat Springs, Aspen, or Telluride – all neat towns in great areas but not included on our Adventure.
What ability level do I really need to be for this Adventure?
This Adventure is rated For All Abilities. The biking is on flat paths and we have multiple hikes of varying difficulty levels to offer you.
Altitude?
It can cause minor disturbances such as a light headache or trouble sleeping. However, at our altitudes we should not experience any problems.
For what type of people would you recommend this Adventure?
Obviously, this tour is oriented to those of you who appreciate a good beer but think it goes even better after some exercise!
