We met Jenny Siddall last fall at our Wine Tourism Conference in Santa Rosa, California. We were struck first by her outgoing and pleasant personality, and then by the depth of her knowledge of wine. When we learned that she also had ten years’ experience guiding active tours and tours focused on food and wine, we knew we were a great match!
Although Jenny is a Brit, she currently lives in Haro, Spain (the epicenter for Rioja winemaking). She has a master’s degree in Viticulture (the cultivation of grapes) and Oenology (the study of wine) and has worked in several Spanish wineries. In other words: the girl knows about wine! Jenny is fluent in Spanish, Italian, French (and obviously, English) so will be a great asset as a guide for almost all of our active wine adventures around the world.
Of course, she will also be guiding our Spain Hiking, Biking, Food & Wine Adventure this September 8 – 13. Some of the highlights of this adventure include:
- Two days of hiking on the famous pilgrimage route of the Camino de Santiago de Compostela. Our route follows the northern coast in Spain’s Basque area, with wonderful views of the sea.
- Biking through the vineyards and small towns, with opportunities to sample many wonderful Rioja wines along the way.
- Fantastic food! Northern Spain is currently a world hotspot for cuisine: from its traditional and ubiquitous fish and seafood, to delicious tapas (also known to the Basques as pinxtos), to mind-blowing modern gastronomy.
- Our lodging on this trip is among the best we offer and ranges from a small and beautiful seaside hotel, to a historical four-star inn, to a new spa resort.
Meet Jenny via video, and join her in Spain this September!
